3- Product Review

Apple Macbook Air

When I heard we were doing a product review I knew that I wanted to do an Apple product because I love the company and the products they produce. My Apple collection is a little ridiculous I have an Apple Watch, Airpods, iPhone 8+, iPad Mini, and a Macbook Air. My Macbook Air is one of the older versions so I decided to review the brand new Air they just released. Macbook Air's are known for being very lightweight and easy travel with which led them to keeping it simple. By simple I mean that unlike the Macbook Pro they are missing the Touch ID and the Force Touch Trackpad. However, on the newly released Air these features were added while still keeping the laptop light weight which I believe will lead to more customers. The new Macbook Air starts at $1099, and is an additional $200 for extra storage. Made of 100% recycled aluminum making it incredibly lightweight hints the name Air and being called "the greenest Mac ever". They are now offering it in a multitude in colors which is new as well as the model before only came in silver. They offer three colors now space gray, gold, and silver. The new display is heavily being discussed in the world of technology as well as its retina display has four million pixels. The resolution is 2560 by 1600 where Apple claims this new display will produce stunningly clear text and images. The newer version is said to have over 48 new colors that the older model did not feature. Another big feature following the same trend as getting rid of the iPhones home button to have full screen is cutting the laptop border down 50% to have a larger screen featuring their "true tone technology".

One of the biggest things about this new Macbook Air is the features that were only one Macbook Pro's until now. For instance Apple is very excited to announce that like most iPhones the Air will feature Touch ID with you fingerprint being your password. The new laptop features a Touch ID sensor that will unlock your Air on command. With Touch ID comes other benefits as now you can link your Apple Pay into your sensor which allows you at checkout to simply place your finger and it will automatically fill out all your billing information. This also allows you to store multiple usernames and passwords on your device to be accessed with just a touch of the finger. The brand new Apple T2 security chip is also in the new Macbook Air. Which is made of silicon and is guaranteed by Apple to keep your Macbook even more secure than ever before. Featuring the "on-the-fly" encryption system which promises to instantly encrypt any important information saved to your Mac. Along with this safety feature the T2 brings a familiar voice to your laptop as Siri is at your command to access any document or information needed.  Multiple people on Youtube and other social media platforms have reviewed this newer model like Karl Conrad (Unboxing Video Link) but others are looking forward to an even more technologically advanced release in 2020.

Apple's changes to their hardware doesn't stop at the T2 as the claim to have perfected their new keyboard. This new keyboard is said to have their new butterfly mechanism which is supposedly producing four times more stability than their older model. Their keyboard also features light sensors and backlit keys that help you type in darker environments. Their force touch trackpad is supposed to be over 20% larger than the past models making it easier to zoom in or out without difficulty. The best thing about the new Macbook Air in my opinion is the unbelievable lightness weighing only 2.75  pounds. Can store up to 16 GB of data, 1 TB of SSD storage, an eighth generation Intel Core i5 processor, and is 15.6 millimeters thin. The battery life is also very impressive as it can play 13 hours of video straight and has a normal battery life of 12 hours. Apple has also added their Thunderbolt 3 which is said to be one of the best universal ports you can buy. Where one single connector can handle data transfer, charging, and video output. Along with that they have claimed that the new Air has twice the amount of bass and 25% more volume than the older model.

Overall the reviews of Apple's new Macbook Air are overwhelmingly positive. Customers are happy with the new changes and thought that went into creating this newer model. I'm actually on the verge of doing the trade in deal the are currently offering where if you old Air is in good shape you can get over half of you payment down towards a new model. After learning of the new features and the positive reviews it seems as if Apple has knocked this one out of the park.
